Breathtaking waterfall views now in full sight as the Twin Dragons Skywalk is completed

Nantou has a new attraction: pathways, scenic bridges, and waterfall views have always been popular among visitors. The much-anticipated new skywalk at the Twin Dragons Waterfall has been completed and is currently undergoing inspection. It is set to open in early 2017, allowing visitors to enjoy the waterfall and nearby scenery while also boosting local industrial development.

The skywalk stretches 947 meters in total, featuring 3,300 steps, with a height difference of about 100 meters between its highest and lowest points. In the future, a scenic suspension bridge will be installed under the waterfall, connecting the areas of Sun Moon Lake’s South Bay, Dili, and Twin Dragons, forming a unified route of attractions to draw more tourists.

The skywalk has now been completed. Once the scenic suspension bridge is finished, it will create one of Taiwan’s most beautiful and high-quality landscapes, linking the Twin Dragons Waterfall with attractions such as the Glass Suspension Bridge, Water Curtain Cave, Wangxiang Tribe, and Dongpu Hot Springs. A two-day, one-night loop tour can be planned to promote tourism and other industries in Xinyi.

The local government office noted that the skywalk is temporarily named the “Twin Dragons Tian Shi Skywalk.” It uses hollow, expandable iron mesh constructed with natural and environmentally friendly methods to avoid affecting vegetation growth. Although the skywalk is completed, inspection will only take place next week, so the public is advised not to visit for the time being.
