Nagasawa has deep ties with Taiwan, having visited the country multiple times for work and leisure. In 2014, she stayed in Taiwan for six months while filming the idol drama “The Gangster’s Daughter,” fully immersing herself in local life. She also participated in the shooting of director John Woo’s epic film “The Crossing,” making her one of the few top-tier Japanese actresses well acquainted with Taiwan. During her trip to shoot the promotional video, she visited popular Taiwanese destinations such as Pingxi, Sun Moon Lake, and the Wenchang and Wenwu Temples, which are favorites among Japanese tourists. She also explored new cultural spots like Huashan 1914 Creative Park and 44 South Village.

Nagasawa also said: “Taiwan has many unique and beloved scenic spots that Japanese people adore. This time, I aimed to offer a traveler’s delicate perspective to present an amazing Taiwan. Through my portrayal, I hope to share with people in Japan the warm and friendly Taiwanese people, the diverse and rich landscapes, and the variety of delicious Taiwanese cuisine that left a deep impression on me.”

Additionally, marketing efforts targeting the Japanese market focus equally on first and second-tier cities, expanding both independent and group travel sources. Different marketing strategies are set according to specific target demographics. Future campaigns will roll out innovative promotions following the launch of the new female spokesperson, using creative approaches to capture the attention of Japanese consumers, strengthen their affinity for Taiwan, and turn that interest into actual travel. The aim is to expand the scale and volume of Japanese tourism to Taiwan.
