France’s Most Famous Christmas Market – The Great 101 Christmas Treasure Hunt Kicks Off in Full Swing

With the upcoming Christmas season, festive events across various regions are kicking off one after another. These include the “Love. Sharing” events at New Taipei City’s Happy Christmas Town and Uni-President Times Square, all of which have launched grand Christmas celebrations. This year, the Taipei City Government has joined forces with the East-West Business District to carefully plan the “2016 Taipei. Colorful Christmas Season,” and in collaboration with the French Institute in Taipei, is introducing Europe’s oldest Christmas market from Strasbourg for the first time.

This year, over 40 vendors will participate, and a “East-West Treasure Hunt Map” stamp-collecting activity will be launched. The site will also feature giant Christmas trees, carousels, and other festive decorations, extending the joyful Christmas atmosphere throughout every corner of Taipei and creating a citywide Christmas experience.

The Strasbourg Christmas market will be authentically recreated with 16 wooden chalets, offering over 1,000 specialty foods including classic French mulled wine, spiced beer, and cured delicacies, as well as handmade crafts and creative ornaments. The market will run from December 1 to 25 at the Taipei 101 Water Dance Plaza, perfectly recreating the essence of the Strasbourg Christmas market.
