There are still many follow-up issues and controversies surrounding the dissolution of TransAsia Airways, and labor-management negotiations have shown disagreements. There is also no clear solution yet on how passengers holding TransAsia tickets will be refunded or even compensated. At this time, the news that China Airlines may take over TransAsia passengers is seen as one possible solution.
On the 22nd, TransAsia Airways had processed around 12,000 ticket refunds, received over 3,000 calls, and deployed additional staff. The current regulations for refund applications are: applications accepted before December 31, 2016, with full refunds processed within 45 working days of application acceptance, and no handling fees charged.
Premier Lin and the Minister of the Ministry of Transportation also commented on the situation of TransAsia Airways ceasing operations without warning and announcing its dissolution. They believe the Civil Aeronautics Administration has a responsibility to review the matter and assist in keeping TransAsia Airways operational. Relevant responsibilities also need to be investigated, and they think the Civil Aeronautics Administration failed to grasp the situation and needs to reflect and improve.
