TransAsia Airways spokesperson Liu Chung-chi stated that he was completely unaware of this matter. It was only after former Minister of Transportation and Communications and former Civil Aeronautics Administration Director-General Chang Kuo-cheng held a press conference at 10:00 AM on November 29 that the news spread. He mentioned that after receiving contact from Chang Kuo-cheng, TransAsia Airways will also make a decision and provide relevant opinions to the Civil Aeronautics Administration.

Although Chang Kuo-cheng has secured funding from local sources and proposed taking over TransAsia Airways’ air rights, the plan was not clear, and the report submitted by TransAsia Airways to the Civil Aeronautics Administration did not mention "TransAsia" at all. The collaboration fell through, and the reclamation of the air rights has become a certainty. The original air rights must be redistributed before the end of 2016.
