Four Dreamy Scenic Bridges in New Taipei City Light Up the Night

When night falls, the streets sparkle as if a galaxy of stars is twinkling. Taiwan has many scenic bridges, each with its own unique charm. This time, HowToTrip is spotlighting the four major scenic bridges in New Taipei City. The New Taipei City Government's four-year scenic bridge project builds one bridge per year to enhance the recreational value of the riverbanks and transform the entire city into a uniquely enchanting urban destination.

First – Xindian Sunshine Bridge
The first in New Taipei City, this pedestrian and bicycle bridge over the river is designed with people in mind and features both striking architecture and dynamic nighttime light displays. The bridge’s light art embellishes the beautiful riverside of the Xindian River at night. It uses energy-saving and low-carbon LED lighting throughout and features carefully crafted dynamic light shows, creating a luminous nighttime attraction in Xindian.

Second – Sanying Dragon Kiln Bridge
The Dragon Kiln Bridge spans the Yingge River and connects the bicycle paths of New Taipei City and Taoyuan. The bridge adopts a steel truss structure to enhance its lightweight feel and modern spatial aesthetics. Its design draws inspiration from the cultural heritage of wooden carvings within the bridge, taking the form of a celestial dragon bringing luck — creating a tunnel-like bridge that embodies the imagery of a dragon kiln.
