With its endless coastline, stretches of sandy beach several kilometers long, and several romantic white windmills standing nearby, the Rice Dumpling-Shaped Beach in Xianxi, Changhua, is known to few due to its remote location, earning it the nickname “forgotten cape paradise” among netizens. There are two theories about how Rice Dumpling-Shaped Beach got its name: one is that the coastal area is covered with wave-dissipating blocks that resemble rice dumplings, and the other is that the Taiwanese term for these blocks is “rice dumpling corners.” Either way, the Xianxi Coastal Industrial Park is indeed characterized by the abundance of these blocks, which enhance the area’s charm. Nearby attractions include the recently viral Changhua Ruins, which are less than a 15-minute drive away.

With its picturesque coastline, Rice Dumpling-Shaped Beach is also an important habitat for migratory birds returning north. However, due to the negative effects of the protruding jetty effect, sediment continues to accumulate, putting the area at risk of desertification.
