Taiwan is home to many naturally formed, stunning landscapes. Many of these treasures may be right around the corner or hidden in plain sight, easily overlooked as you pass by. Located between Taipei and Yilan, and situated midway through the Xueshan Tunnel, Pinglin District in New Taipei City boasts verdant scenery surrounded by mountains and rivers — a landscape reminiscent of an ink-wash painting. It is one of the most frequently overlooked areas. Not only is Pinglin renowned for its Baozhong tea, but the cultural artistry of its old streets and traditional houses is also truly captivating.
