One of Taiwan’s hottest hidden gems: a wild hot spring you can both photograph and enjoy

As winter arrives and cold temperatures set in, soaking in a soul-reviving hot spring while taking in breathtaking scenery is the dream of most travelers. Near the Laidu Tribe in Taitung lies a mysterious earthly paradise — recently going viral on IG, this Taiwanese hidden gem, Lison Hot Spring, features cascading springs and waterfalls from the mountainside. The cliffs are adorned with calcium carbonate crystals and emerald-green thermophilic algae clinging to the minerals, creating a jade-like rock face that has made this spot one of the most famous landscapes.
