Taichung International Flower Carpet Festival – Taiwan’s First Dynamic Floral Amusement Park

This year’s theme was “Flowers Unveil a New Wonderland,” featuring dynamic, three-dimensional “carousels,” adorable and entertaining circus performances, and hourly dynamic flower carpet stunt shows. These lively elements aim to transform the traditional static flower displays into a brand-new experience, redefining the International Flower Carpet Festival. Additionally, reflecting on Houli being the habitat of the protected leopard cat, the festival also adopted the “leopard cat” as a creative theme.

The Houli Flower Field Green Corridor, originally a landfill site, has been transformed through planning and landscaping. This year, it became the venue for the Taichung International Flower Carpet Festival, turning into a fairytale-like, three-dimensional floral theme park. With vibrant flowers combined with dynamic installation art, the festival features four major highlight zones: Taiwan’s first “three-dimensional dynamic carousel” main flower carpet, a large sunflower maze “Hide-and-Seek in the Flower Field” loved by both adults and children, a leopard cat-shaped three-dimensional artistic flower carpet “Peekaboo,” and the dazzling festive-themed “Christmas Garden.” In addition, there are ten themed exhibition areas that highly integrate interaction and dynamic floral installations, waiting for visitors to explore.

Surrounded by countless fresh flowers, a giant floral sculpture stands at the center with a carousel. This massive carousel, with an overall diameter of 30 meters and a height of 8 meters, features locally representative animals of the greater Taichung area such as leopard cats, horses, Formosan black bears, and llamas. Every hour and half-hour, it begins to rotate along with music, turning flower viewing from a purely static experience into one enriched with dynamic beauty.
