Romantic Walnut Crane Christmas Light Sea Around Tokyo Station Marunouchi Area Highly Popular

The main boulevard in Marunouchi starts lighting up around 5:00 PM, with rows of trees covered in yellow lights, filling the air with romance. You can hear local Japanese people’s praises, and visitors eagerly take photos of their favorite scenes with their phones and cameras.

Christmas trees and giant Nutcracker figurines decorate various locations including the International Building, Marunouchi 1-chome Plaza, Marunouchi Building, Shin-Marunouchi Building, and the Marunouchi OAZO Plaza. The first-floor lobby of KITTE in the Marunouchi district also features a dreamy white Christmas tree, the tallest indoor Christmas tree in Japan, illuminated with blue lights to create a magical atmosphere. KITTE Mall was reconstructed from the former Tokyo Central Post Office and has been one of Tokyo’s uniquely distinctive malls since its opening in 2013. On the side of the same building, the preserved section of the Tokyo Central Post Office has set up a special postal window to meet the demand for sending New Year’s greeting cards. The area sees a lively crowd of people picking out cards to send. Visitors to the area might also want to choose uniquely designed New Year’s cards (nengajo) to send to loved ones or keep as souvenirs.

Additionally, the Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum, located near the main Christmas light street in Marunouchi, has a small and romantic Christmas tree in its rear plaza. Staff invite visitors to write down their wishes and hang them on the tree, making wishes in this heartwarming season and embracing new hopes for the upcoming year.
