Japan offers a diverse array of cuisines, from ramen to Japanese fare, but one essential experience is the indulgent hotel breakfast. The 7th “Rakuten Travel Breakfast Festival,” hosted by Rakuten Travel’s reservation platform, chose the 2016 Japan’s No. 1 breakfast from 1,500 submissions. The winning dish was selected by netizens and culinary experts based on four criteria: flavor, presentation, originality, and cooking style.
The Special Award went to the Hachimantai Fruit Smoothie Thick Omelet, a simple yet heartwarming taste. (Image source / Aihari Hachimantai no Shoku no Yado Shikiatsu)
