The last sunset on Taiwan proper this year will take place in Guanshan, Pingtung; Sizihwan, Kaohsiung; and Anping, Tainan at 17:25, where the public can enjoy the year’s final sunset. To welcome 2017, another wave of first sunrise chasing is set to sweep across Taiwan. The earliest sunrise on Taiwan proper will be at Dongqing, Lanyu at 06:33, while the earliest on the main island is at Longkeng, Kenting at 06:35. Since actual sunrise times may vary due to atmospheric effects or location-specific refraction, the public is advised to arrive at these spots 10 minutes early to get prepared.
