The allure of CJSJ definitely comes from its uniquely romantic dessert appearances,
and those innovatively layered textures.
The name CJSJ stands for the initials of the French Michelin-trained patissier Mr. Soriano Joaquin and the cooking chef Ms. Chuang Ju,
and their passion for desserts drives them to change flavors and offerings every two months.
Located next to a residential building in West District, Taichung, the shop has daily limits on sales and often sells out within hours after opening at noon.
It’s usually gone in just a few hours.

This time, having the chance to work in Taichung, I decided I had to try the famousCJSJ French-style desserts.
I read many reviews saying you have to queue up an hour early, or you might not get the flavors you want,
so we arrived at the shop around 10 a.m.
We thought we’d be the first, but there were already about 7 or 8 groups of people in line.
Ten minutes before the 11 a.m. opening, staff hand out numbered tickets, and each person is limited to buying just four items.
CJSJI heard each dessert flavor is limited to just 50 pieces per day.

As soon as it hit 11, everyone lined up and entered in order, going along the dessert display to place orders. I noticed that most of the couples
went through almost all the flavors.
But since it was just the two of us dining in, and we were afraid we wouldn’t finish too many,
we picked three flavors that we thought were the most beautiful and unique.

The seats on the first floor feature an all-white setting with pink round tables and black chairs,
and the use of PIETER STOCKMANS-designed tableware adds a refined touch.
