Literary-style cafes are becoming increasingly popular in Taiwan, with similar spots popping up on every street corner and alley, winning widespread acclaim. And it’s not just Taiwan—Japan and other places also boast rich coffee cultures, while Southeast Asian countries have an even longer history of coffee drinking. Located in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, there is a nine-storey coffee apartment where the entire building is filled with a variety of charming cafes, along with a few fashion and nail salons interspersed throughout.

This apartment was an old building from the mid-20th century, renovated into a coffee apartment in 2015. It retains traces of its previous use as housing for government and military personnel, with each shop establishing its own style upon moving in, resulting in the current diverse retro aesthetic. Whether in the daytime or at night, the building’s exterior looks exceptionally unique.
