Aerial Photography Competition Unveils Stunning Global Landscapes from Above

With the invention of drones, aerial photography has become the new darling of the photography world, opening up fresh perspectives. A company based in Shenzhen, China—DJI Innovations (DJI), renowned for its innovation and quality, leads the global commercial drone market. To celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2016, DJI organized a drone photography competition called the SkyPixel Photo Contest, the world’s largest of its kind. The contest was divided into professional and amateur categories, with three themes per group, making six categories in total. It ultimately received 27,000 entries from 131 countries worldwide, showing that the drone photography craze is far from fading. DJI recently announced the competition results, with photographer Zheng Ge’s work “Fishermen Close the Net” winning the grand prize. Below are the winning entries from each category:
