Japan’s must-try Ichiran Ramen opens in Taipei’s Xinyi District

The renowned Japanese ramen chain Ichiran, long awaited by foodies in Taiwan, has confirmed its expansion to Taipei’s Xinyi District. The new location will be on the bustling Songren Road in Xinyi, with a grand opening scheduled for June.

Ichiran Ramen is known for offering customizable ramen tailored to individual tastes, including richness of flavor, toppings, broth seasoning, and noodle firmness — all without extra charge. This makes it easy even for those not accustomed to Japan’s traditionally rich and heavy-flavored ramen. The broth, made from pork bones simmered for days with over 30 ingredients including chili pepper, is a closely guarded secret recipe. Its slightly spicy red broth has become its signature feature.
