Caffè Florian, the World’s Most Beautiful Café, Opens Its First Taiwanese Branch

Caffè Florian was established on December 29, 1720, by Floriano Francesconi. Initially named “Alla Venezia Trionfante” (Triumphant Venice), it was later renamed “Caffè Florian” and grew into a world-renowned café. Known for its exceptional service, Caffè Florian offers an exclusive selection of Italian-style beverages, food, lifestyle products, and designer goods. Today, Caffè Florian continues to uphold its historic charm, creating a unique ambiance that attracts visitors from around the globe. In 2017, Caffè Florian made its first appearance in Taiwan, setting up shop at Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Taipei Xinyi New World A9—a hub for fashion-forward crowds—bringing the most authentic taste of Italy’s century-old café culture to Taiwan and reviving 297 years of heritage.

For nearly 300 years, Caffè Florian has witnessed the tides of European history. Known as the “Living Room of Venice,” Caffè Florian has also been voted one of the “Most Beautiful Cafés in the World.” On March 10 (Friday), Caffè Florian will begin its trial operation in Taiwan as its first branch and the brand’s sixth global location, situated at Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Taipei Xinyi New World A9. Marco Paolini, CEO of the Caffè Florian brand, places great importance on this Taiwan debut. He personally led the team to Taiwan, stating: “We’ve observed a high level of acceptance toward international brands in the Taiwanese market. We’ve invested significant resources and effort into this Taiwan store. The Taiwan debut of Caffè Florian—the Taipei A9 branch—adopts a composite business model integrating beverages, food, and retail. The interior design was personally overseen by the brand’s designer, Gloria De Ruggiero. All furniture, tableware, and artworks were shipped from Italy to Taiwan. The Taipei A9 storefront also replicates the entrance design of the flagship Venice store, while incorporating Eastern elements to create a uniquely Taiwanese “Dragon Soaring Among Clouds” mural wall art, enhancing the brand’s distinct artistic atmosphere. The menu is a 100% replication of offerings from the Venice original, including coffee beverages, a variety of desserts, and meals. Additionally, Caffè Florian’s iconic “Silver Tray Service” is also introduced, delivering the most authentic Italian cuisine and premium service. The Taipei A9 branch of Caffè Florian will offer trendsetters a “gastronomic feast” that goes beyond traditional coffee experiences.
