Moses Parting the Sea control advisory: No island access to protect ecology

Penghu’s renowned tourist attraction, Moses Parting the Sea, where a long S-shaped gravel path appears at low tide, enabling visitors to walk to Chi Yu. This extraordinary phenomenon, akin to Moses parting the sea, has become a top tourist destination. But the overwhelming number of visitors has led to damage to the terrain. As a result, starting in April, the Penghu Scenic Area Administration will restrict public access to the island.

To preserve marine ecology and ensure visitor safety, the Penghu National Scenic Area Administration under the Tourism Bureau will implement restrictions starting in April. During the peak season from April to September, between 6:00 AM and 6:30 PM, access will be limited to 7.5 meters on either side of the centerline of the pathway, and island access will be completely prohibited thereafter. The Penghu Administration stated that boundary control lines and informational signs will be set up to remind visitors.
