Tsutaya Bookstore’s first lifestyle hotel — a high-quality design youth hostel

The TSUTAYA audiovisual business operated by Japan’s CCC Group has made remarkable progress in recent years. In addition to being home to one of the world’s 20 most beautiful bookstores, Tsutaya Books, it also includes cross-industry ventures such as Tsutaya TECHEMICS and T-SITE department stores. It even opened its first overseas hybrid bookstore in Taipei in 2017. Now, TSUTAYA is expanding into the hospitality industry, launching its own-brand hostel, Goen Lounge & Stay Hostel, on the fifth and sixth floors of the popular tourist destination T-SITE ANNEXⅡ in Osaka. Just a short walk from the station, it’s extremely convenient.

Goen Lounge & Stay Hostel carries on the design aesthetics of Tsutaya Books, featuring wood and minimalism as its main elements. The lounge’s two walls of bookshelves display books related to Japanese history and culture, allowing foreign tourists to leisurely browse during their downtime.

In addition to the shared dormitories commonly found in hostels, there are also four-person, three-person, and two-person private suites. There is also an open-air Japanese-style bathhouse that offers backpackers a chance to unwind in hot water after a full day of exploring.
