The hot spring amusement park is officially making its debut — hot springs × roller coasters × Ferris wheel

In November 2016, Beppu City in Oita Prefecture, Japan, uploaded a rather unique video on YouTube titled “100万再生で本当にやります！別府市0?俐園地計画！”. This was a video conceptualized as a hot spring amusement park. The mayor promised that if the video reached one million views, he would make this hot spring amusement park plan a reality. Unexpectedly, the response was extremely enthusiastic — the goal was achieved in just three days. Now, this amusement park is confirmed to open in July, operating only from July 29 to 31, with a daily limit of 3,000 visitors. It will officially launch as a limited-time, limited-entry attraction.

Kyushu is known as the home of hot springs, and Beppu City has long been a famous hot spring destination in Japan, boasting the highest volume of hot spring water output in the world. To further promote local tourism features, an exceptionally unique and modern marketing approach was used, sparking widespread discussion. The park will feature attractions such as a hot spring roller coaster, merry-go-round, and Ferris wheel, blending spa experiences with amusement park elements to create a one-of-a-kind hot spring theme park in the world.
