Hidden Reservoir Gem × Urban Green Lung: Agongdian Forest Ecological Park

Located in Kaohsiung City, Agongdian Reservoir is primarily formed by collecting water from the Wanglai Stream and Zhuoshui Stream, tributaries of the upper Agongdian River. Built at the foot of Xiaogangshan Mountain, the reservoir boasts a vast surface that reveals sandy islets-like landforms during dry seasons and ripples dynamically in the rainy season, full of grandeur. It is an important tourist attraction in the Gangshan and Yanchao areas. To enhance the recreational quality of Agongdian Reservoir and promote tourism development in the surrounding area, the Kaohsiung City Government first renovated the approximately 8-kilometer-long cycling path, and later converted 9.3 hectares of idle land near the reservoir into a forest park. The park has become an urban green lung and the city’s backyard garden.

In addition to creating distinctive features through plant diversity, the park also includes an ecological pond at the entrance, along with a forest playground, viewing platforms, and an ecological pond, forming a well-rounded and rich Agongdian Forest Park — perfect for visitors to enjoy water activities and nature walks even within the urban environment.
