Container Village Becomes a Super Popular New IG Spot, Drawing Massive Crowds

Kaohsiung’s Asia New Bay Area “Box Set．KUBIC” container village opened on March 31. Since its launch, it has not only become a hot topic on social media but also an all-ages photo hotspot, with visitor numbers exceeding 10,000. The “Tell a Story of the Asia Bay” exhibition has also attracted over 25,000 visitors, allowing tourists to enjoy the vibrant new container attraction while gaining a deeper understanding of the city government’s ambitious Asia New Bay Area project.

The Asia New Bay Area is a public space for all citizens. The spacious and open Box Set．KUBIC has become the trendiest gathering spot for families and friends, attracting over 10,000 Facebook check-ins since opening. It represents an experimental and innovative model of municipal marketing.

The “Tell a Story of the Asia Bay” exhibition, themed around the evolution of Kaohsiung Harbor, has drawn over 25,000 visitors. Through large-scale maps, detailed models of key infrastructure, and animated videos projected on walls, guests gain a better understanding of the intertwined development of the harbor and the city. Most uniquely, the exhibition features shimmering projections of seawater on the ceiling and floor, accompanied by the sound of foghorns, immersing visitors in a harbor-like atmosphere and fully experiencing Kaohsiung’s distinctive maritime charm.

Starting in May, Box Set．KUBIC will roll out creative activities such as Mother’s Day fun for moms, radio sky transmission, parent-child doll painting, educational theater workshops, leather craft collaborations, manzai comedy shows, treehouse barbershop, modern film screenings, and Asia Bay collage vision projects, offering diverse experiences and enjoyment for visitors from near and far.
