Take a train to admire the golden rain of golden shower trees under Ali Mountain

It’s the peak blooming season of the golden shower tree, and golden rain is falling across Taiwan, sparking a new wave of flower appreciation enthusiasm nationwide. At the garage park of the Alishan Forest Railway, clusters of bright yellow flower spikes hang down, set against blue skies, greenery, and a little red train. This has become one of the most radiant flower-viewing spots in Alishan. The golden-yellow golden shower trees are in full, passionate bloom. You don’t need vast seas of flowers to appreciate their beauty—this delicate and vivid combination is also a beautiful part of Alishan.

The Alishan Forest Railway Garage Park serves as the home base for Alishan’s trains, housing a variety of locomotives and workshop equipment. Visitors can see several retired steam trains, diesel locomotives, power cars, passenger and freight carriages, as well as a turntable used to change the direction of train engines—making it feel like a large-scale railway-themed museum.
