Dine under the stars at Taiwan’s first vegetarian planetarium restaurant

Recently, a new highlight has emerged in Tainan — the newly opened Planet Gastronomy, located opposite the Tainan City Government, is Taiwan’s first vegetarian planetarium restaurant. Since the owner is an astronomy enthusiast, the restaurant features an ultra-large astronomical projection system, allowing diners to enjoy the Milky Way and starry skies while they eat. The romantic ambiance has sparked curiosity among many visitors, who are eager to see this unique dining spot.

Planet Gastronomy offers three stargazing sessions per day, with day and night alternating every 15 minutes. The biggest highlight is the astronomical observation dome — the largest private one in Taiwan and the fourth largest in the country, with a diameter of 10 meters. Other observation domes of this scale are all national-level facilities, including the Taipei Astronomical Museum, the Taichung National Museum of Natural Science, and the Nanying Astronomical Observatory. All meals served at the venue are vegetarian.
