Giant Heart Swing & Ultra-Cool Ball Wall: IG’s New Hotspot at Shalu Dream Street

Instagram has seen a new wave of popular photo spots. Shalu Dream Street in Taichung, initially planned to open officially during the summer break, opened ahead of schedule due to eager visitors. Beyond the previously viral giant heart-shaped swing, the 700-ping space now also features angel wings and other colorful murals, a café, container bar, Kōshien Izakaya, a vibrant basketball court, and more—including Taiwan’s most dazzling basketball wall—making it a new hotspot full of endless photo opportunities.

Originally a food street near Providence University’s side gate, Shalu Dream Street once bustled with dozens of shops. However, business declined and many closed down. Business owner Mr. Lin decided to create a “dream street” to support young entrepreneurs with big ideas. Within the vast complex, he has planned container bars, cafés, izakayas, breakfast buses, and clothing studios—hoping to help more people turn their dreams into reality.
