Located in Waipu, Taichung, Valley of Bliss not only offers expansive stretches of golden rice but also showcases a patchwork of green fields divided by paths that resemble a mosaic of the earth. Walking along the lightning-like country roads feels like strolling down an endless heavenly path, making it a hidden gem for photography enthusiasts in Taichung. Most rice fields in Taiwan are second-season crops, planted roughly between August and January of the following year. About a month before harvest, the fields appear lush and green, then transform into waves of golden grain once the ears mature. Whether shot from high ground or with the rice fields as a backdrop — and with no buildings in sight — you can capture the sweeping beauty of open farmland. Some even say these views rival those of Taitung’s Bolang Rice Fields.
