The First Huashan Cultural and Creative Parent-Child Summer Festival: Stories from the Heart, Music, and Movement

Huashan 1914 Cultural and Creative Park is launching its first parent-child performing arts event, centered around originality and featuring programs suitable for children of all ages. Parents are invited to bring their kids to the theater to enjoy a good story, watch a wonderful performance, or take off their shoes and join in body movement activities at the baby theater. Performing arts aren’t hard to understand—let children open their senses and embark on an artistic experience journey!

The Huashan Parent-Child Performing Arts Festival has specially curated age-appropriate content for children from 0 to 12 years old. Registration begins in mid-June, with performances running from July 2 to August 6, featuring up to 17 shows, 8 free workshops and lectures, and a wide range of diverse experiences.

With originality at its core and stories as its foundation, four professional performing arts teams have been invited to bring a fresh new look to the field of children’s performing arts. For example, the baby theater series "We Need a Flower" by N！N！Make Assembly aims to break the notion that "babies under one year old can't go to the theater." The entire performance is presented without language, allowing babies aged 0–2 and their parents to explore together in an interactive, participatory show.

A team led by Wei Guangfg, director of the Art Center at Donghua University, brings a brand-new storytelling experience for children aged 3–12. By reducing excessive flashy decorations, the focus returns to the purity of "listening" to stories. Popular online storyteller "Auntie Dada Tells Stories" delivers captivating content, accompanied by jazz performances from the young group "Girls Nine," and in collaboration with professional sound designer Gao Minfu, inviting you to immerse your senses in a world of audiovisual delight.
