Classic Totoro Scenes Reimagined: Studio Ghibli to Build a Dreamy Theme Park

Fans of Studio Ghibli, take note: Not only is Hayao Miyazaki gearing up to return to creating new animations, but the famed animation studio behind his films has recently revealed plans to team up with Aichi Prefecture to build a Ghibli theme park, set to be completed by 2020.

The Ghibli Animation Theme Park will be located in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, covering an area of approximately 200 hectares. It is scheduled to be completed on the eve of the Tokyo Olympics and will feature iconic scenes from beloved animated films, bringing their unique worlds to life. A Japanese designer named TAKUMI has recently created a conceptual image of the park, which has garnered widespread praise from Japanese netizens. The Studio Ghibli team has also stated that the construction process will avoid cutting down trees, staying true to the environmental and nature-focused values emphasized in the film Totoro.
