The passionate blooms of ginger lilies create a stunning pink sea of flowers with irresistible charm.

Recently, the golden rice fields in Wangyou Valley, Waipu, Taichung, have sparked a photography craze. Beyond admiring the lush green patchwork of the land, there’s also a small pink flower sea bursting into bloom beside the tung blossom trail at Shuiliudong, Waipu. This is the ginger lily farm. Ginger lilies are tropical bulbous flowers that thrive in warm, humid climates. In Taiwan, their blooming season typically runs from June to October. With their unique shape, vibrant colors, and long flowering period, they are highly favored in both Japan and Taiwan. Entry to the flower fields is free, and there’s a flower bouquet stand nearby—visitors can take some flowers home after enjoying the sea of blooms. However, please avoid stepping on the flower beds while enjoying the view.

2. National Freeway 3: Take the “Dajia Interchange” exit → head toward Waipu → turn onto Jiayou Road → at Waipu Elementary School, go all the way to Qizhi Alley, then turn right onto Liufen Road.

1. Train or bus: Get off at Dajia Railway Station or Houli Railway Station, then transfer to a Fengyuan Bus bound for Dajia and get off at Waipu Station.
