Kaohsiung unveils another tourism highlight: Taiwan’s most distinctive skywalk — the Gangshan Eye Park, set to open as early as October. Located in the hiking area of Little Gangshan, the bridge spans 88 meters and stands about 14 stories high, offering panoramic views of the scenic beauty of Agongdian Reservoir, overlooking the urban landscapes of Gangshan and Yong’an, as well as the sight of high-speed trains speeding by. It also provides distant views of the mountain ranges around Zhongliaoshan, and on clear days, even the main ridge of the Central Mountain Range, including Mount Nanhu in the north, and the Taiwan Strait — a vast, unobstructed vista.

With a horizontal span of about 70 meters and an elevation difference of approximately 17 meters, the Gangshan Eye features an eccentric suspension design, with its steel walkway suspended mid-air, giving visitors the sensation of walking amidst the clouds. The park also includes an I-Center service area, a music garden rest zone, a bunker-camouflage recreation area, and a shuttle service area. It utilizes forest trail systems and accessible ramps to connect all zones, forming a continuous, circular visiting route. Currently, 80% of the Gangshan Eye project has been completed. Once finished, it is expected to attract visitors from across Taiwan and grow into a nationally renowned tourist attraction.
