Connecting four major attractions: Luffy makes an appearance at the 2017 "Double Sculptures in One Glance" Art Festival

The 2017 "Double Sculptures in One Glance" Art Festival series, combining creative salt products, salt industry culture, and the charm of sandy beaches and waters, kicks off on July 1. Now in its 6th year, the event will for the first time link up four major tourist attractions in Tainan’s Qigu District and Jiangjun District—from Qigu Salt Mountain, Taiwan Salt Museum, Qigu Visitor Center to Mashagou Coastal Recreation Area—featuring various themed salt and sand sculptures.

At the Mashagou Coastal Recreation Area, the upright and family-loving sea god Poseidon stands guard, leading the optimistic and bold Pirate King Luffy, Chopper, enchanting mermaids, and spirited pirates from "One Piece" in a grand battle to protect the magnificent ocean.

Qigu Salt Mountain will be transformed into a romantic proposal venue, adorned with salt sculptures such as love arches, diamond rings, romantic flowers, and cakes. The Qigu Visitor Center, which became an internet sensation even before opening due to its best photo spots, features adorable salt sculptures of dessert soldiers battling knights; the Taiwan Salt Museum will premiere the colorful and sweet process of creating sand sculptures, allowing visitors to witness the incredible carving skills of professional salt sculptors firsthand.

In addition to a concert on the opening day featuring Taiwan Good Land’s spokesperson JR (Jiyan Kai), Malaysia’s “Goddess of Beauty” Lin Mingzhen (dubbed the “Gh0st Goddess”), Singaporean music talent Qiu Fengze, radio DJ Yuanyuan (known as the “radio DJ version of Lin Chi-ling”), and Chiayi City’s indie band EXIT performing at the “Flower Youth Concert,” this year’s "Double Sculptures in One Glance Art Festival" will host three concerts in total, with the other two taking place on July 22 and August 26, promising to ignite the festive spirit.
