Tainan’s newest Instagram hotspot: the Zhengxing Street Container Market offers food, drinks, and shopping all in one place

The bustling and diverse Zhengxing Street commercial district is a must-visit attraction for many tourists coming to Tainan, and it has recently become even more lively. The first-ever Zhengxing Container Market, organized by Biyang Plaza, opened in July, covering an area of 250 ping and featuring 13 colorful containers. It has brought in 14 brands, combining local cultural elements with a youthful vibe to create the latest trendy and artsy container market. Ever since its opening, it has attracted large crowds and has quickly become a new popular Instagram spot.

Not just Kaohsiung has a container market—now Tainan’s Zhengxing Street commercial district does too. It brings together food & beverage, fashion trends, and art culture, with each stall made up of a container unit of over two ping. From domestic to international brands, each offers its own unique features. These include the world’s smallest Eslite Bookstore “Eslite Youth Store,” Tainan’s famous traditional drink “Da Shui Gang,” the Palace Museum’s pop-up store “My Citrus Shop,” Monster Beer Bar, and the French restaurant “Start Boulangerie.”
