Muji’s Global Flagship Store Unveils Its First Hotel – A New Landmark in Ginza

Muji, famous for its minimalist style, is beloved by consumers worldwide, and now it has even bigger plans in store. The Tokyo Headquarters of Yomiuri Shimbun and Mitsui Fudosan have announced that in spring 2019, they will open a new commercial facility in Ginza 3-chome, along with the world’s largest Muji flagship store and the world’s first “MUJI HOTEL,” where Muji furniture and various amenities will be used throughout the hotel.

This development project, “MARRONNIER X Namiki Yomiuri Ginza Plan,” will be located on Namiki-dori, right across from MARRONNIER GATE 2, spanning from the basement level 3 to the 10th floor above ground, with a total floor area of 14,219 square meters. It will be a mixed-use commercial complex combining a hotel and retail space.

The basement 1st floor to part of the 6th floor of this commercial building will be Muji’s global flagship store, with a total retail floor area exceeding 3,300 square meters. Part of the 6th floor up to the 10th floor will be the “MUJI HOTEL,” with Muji responsible for providing the hotel’s concept planning and overseeing the interior design.
