Taiwan’s Longest Suspension Bridge to Open in September – Taiping Cloud Ladder Opening Information

Taiwan’s longest single-span scenic suspension bridge, the “Taiping Cloud Ladder,” has recently announced its opening date. Instead of a trial operation period, online ticket reservations will open in late August, and the bridge will officially begin operations on September 23. The main structure has been completed, while other parts including the additional night lighting project and the final inspection procedures are still pending completion. In addition, surrounding parking lots and the visitor center have been completed and are undergoing fine-tuning.

The Taiping Cloud Ladder will hold an inauguration event on the morning of September 23 and officially open to the public at 1:00 PM. Entry requires purchasing a ticket, and daily visitor capacity is limited to 2,000 people. Ticket prices are tentatively set at NT$100 for adults, NT$80 for group tickets, NT$50 for half-price tickets, NT$50 for residents of Chiayi County, NT$30 for residents of Meishan Township, and only a NT$10 insurance fee for residents of Taiping Village. Reservations and ticket purchases can be made through the Alishan Management Office website starting in late August. Additionally, guided tours and interpretive staff will be available to introduce visitors to the Taiping Cloud Ladder and the surrounding scenery.
