Free 40-meter inflatable fun at Taipei Riverside Kids' Festival – splash around to your heart's content

The joyful, physically engaging, intellectually stimulating, and witty "2017 Taipei Riverside Kids' Festival" will be held for nine consecutive days from July 15 to July 23. It’s perfect for parents to bring their kids to Dajia Riverside Park and enjoy a delightful time along the Taipei riverside.

This year’s Taipei Riverside Kids' Festival is themed "Kids Power: Play the Water Park," and is larger in scale than previous years. It features four main activities: water play, cultural performances, fun games, and DIY traditional toys. Additionally, there will be a special Family Day event on the afternoon of July 22.

The event is completely free and runs daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a rich and exciting program. For the water play activities, out of 300 spots per session, 200 are available via advance online registration and 100 on-site on a first-come, first-served basis. For safety reasons, registrants must be at least 6 years old. Parents who do not use the play equipment do not need to register. The remaining activities, including cultural performances, fun games, and DIY toy-making, require no registration to enjoy or participate.

In addition to the water play area at Dajia Riverside Park, there is also a scenic dry fountain set up at Guandu Wharf Plaza. It has been operating since June, with access hours from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays in June and September, and daily from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM in July and August. The scenic dry fountain has 26 nozzles, accompanied by colorful LED lighting effects. Although it is for scenic purposes only and not recommended for playing inside, enjoying the water sprays and light shows adds a cool and romantic atmosphere to the evening.

In addition, to support energy conservation and carbon reduction, participants are encouraged to use public transportation and bring eco-friendly tableware. On-site food trucks will offer discounts as a gesture.

◎ Dajia Riverside Park Playground Sandbox & Kids’ Water Play Area:
Enter via Keelung River’s No. 8 (Binjiang Evacuation Gate) or No. 9 Water Gate (Dajia Evacuation Gate), then turn left and go straight ahead until you reach the Hope Fountain.
1. Bus: 72, 222 (Riverside Park Dajia Section), Citizen Mini-bus 9 (No. 8 Water Gate Stop)
2. MRT: Transfer to Red 34 at Yuanshan Station (No. 8 Water Gate Stop, weekend service only)
 
◎ Guandu Waterfront Fountain:
Take the Tamsui Line of the MRT to Guandu Station. Rent a bicycle from the bike rental station next to the MRT station, and ride along the bike path to reach Guandu Waterfront Park. Alternatively, take Bus Red 35 or Bus Xiao 23 and get off at Guandu Wharf Station. Walk for one minute toward the bike rental station to arrive.
