Japan’s 《BRUTUS》 magazine began introducing countries through the themed series “101 Things To Do in XX” starting in 2015. The recently released Taiwan special edition has garnered much attention and response. Tainan Tourism’s IG, Twitter, and Facebook accounts shared that Guohua Street has appeared on the cover of a Japanese magazine, which has drawn enthusiastic reactions from netizens, adding brilliance to Taiwan’s global image.

The Japanese magazine’s feature has also received praise from National Taiwan University professor Li Mingcong, who commended the careful selection of the cover and noted that the meaning of travel isn’t just about ticking off destinations. More importantly, it allows people to step away from their daily lives and immerse themselves in other cultures and worlds. From this perspective, Taiwan is indeed very appealing to the Japanese. He also emphasized that tourism should not be limited to advertising but should serve as an opportunity to showcase a country’s culture.
