Four meteor showers coincide—Top 10 stargazing spots in Taiwan recommended

Taiwan sees several meteor showers every late July, including the Aquarids, Southern Piscids, and Capricornids, all peaking between the 28th and 30th. Though not major meteor showers, they still offer more than 10 meteors per hour. In addition to these three, before dawn on the 29th, visitors may also catch a new meteor shower from Comet Borisov (C/2015 D4, Borisov). 2. New Taipei – Ruifang Buyi Ting
Mountainous areas facing east offer good chances to see meteor showers. Buyi Ting in Ruifang is located in the mountains, surrounded mostly by forest with minimal light pollution.

3. Taoyuan – Lala Mountain Stargazing Campsite
The Lala Mountain Stargazing Campsite, at an altitude of over 1,000 meters, is hidden away in light-pollution-free Lala Mountain and offers spectacular views.

4. Taichung – Wanggaoliao Park
Wanggaoliao Park is not only one of the top choices for night scenery viewing among locals in Taichung, but also the best spot on the Dadu Plateau for stargazing and moon watching.
