66 Doraemons Are Too Eye-Catching—A Summer Exclusive Takes Over Tokyo

Every summer, the adorable army of Doraemons appears in Roppongi, and this summer they’re here again too. The large-scale event planned by TV Asahi, the “Roppongi Hills Summer Festival SUMMER STATION,” will temporarily transform Roppongi Hills into the “66 Doraemon Plaza.” There’s a grand gathering of around 66 life-sized Doraemons, each holding various props—cute and almost human-sized. Their adorable and heartwarming appearances have gotten both adults and children super excited.

In reality, there are of course more than just these 66 Doraemons. Hidden figures are scattered throughout the headquarters of TV Asahi—for example, on the rooftop of the 7th floor, there’s a 10-meter-tall giant Doraemon, along with various play facilities for kids, and other Doraemons about 120 cm tall are stationed around to welcome visitors.

TV Asahi has also opened up its employee cafeteria, which was hugely popular last year, allowing visitors to rest and dine here. There are also a variety of food activities and VR experiences on-site, ensuring fans have a healing summer vacation.
