The Multilayered Secret Realm: Diverse Photo Highlights at the 2017 Taoyuan Land Art Festival

The “2017 Taoyuan Land Art Festival” took place from August 18 to September 3 in Guanyin and Bade Districts of Taoyuan City, running for 17 days. The festival highlighted Taoyuan’s distinctive natural landscapes—such as ponds, melaleuca tree-lined roads, and abundant natural ecology—integrating local ethnic culture to offer everyone a chance to experience the beauty of Taoyuan.

With the concept of “Discovering the Secret Realm of Landscapes,” this edition of the Taoyuan Land Art Festival sought out and explored intriguing “hidden landscape realms.” Collaborating with artists, community residents, and local universities, the event made full use of the area’s natural landscapes and cultural features, featuring 27 installation artworks, over 20 workshops, 17 artistic performances, 5 thematic activities, 6 art markets, 1 international forum, 12 zones with 17 community mini-tours, a special exhibition of traditional farming equipment, DIY experiences with local agricultural products, and a weekend Art Boulevard—all aiming to provide a unique, in-depth experience.
