A new attraction in Tainan: a rice field maze offering breathtaking green vistas

Mazes have always been a beloved playful attraction, not only evoking childhood memories but also providing fun for families with kids to explore their wonders. Now, Tainan has a new maze attraction—the paddy field navigation experience in Houbi District, taking visitors on a journey into another world of rice fields.

By integrating local community culture and designing farmland into a maze, it not only allows visitors to better understand Taiwan’s rural life but also lets travelers escape the urban skyline and freely roam the fields. The entire maze spans 1 hectare, and walking through the lush green rice paddies feels like stepping into a movie scene.

It takes about 15 to 20 minutes to complete the entire maze, which also features interactive puzzle activities along the way, offering a taste of the “No Rice, No Joy” rural culture. These include fun challenges like throwing a giant “J”, guessing the weight of rice sacks, and playing baseball—games that engage both kids and adults while teaching them about rice culture through play. Additionally, the central area of the park allows visitors to take a closer look at the rural life of the farming village.
