An Ancient Village Turned IG Highlight: Tainan Art Village Resembles a Traditional Ink Painting

Tainan, an ancient city rich in history and culture, is one of the most beloved destinations for travelers who enjoy nostalgic atmospheres. Located in Xuejia District, Lao Tanghu Art Village exudes the quaint and elegant charm of a 1950s rural village, blending elements such as antique-style red-brick buildings, Minnan architecture, and Mongolian grassland motifs. The well-known TV drama "Spring Plum" was also filmed here, turning this classic art village into a popular photo spot on Instagram.

Every brick, tile, plant, and tree in Lao Tanghu Art Village was personally built by abstract artist Kuang Yi. Covering an area of about 3 hectares, it took Kuang Yi over a decade to gather old building materials from demolished traditional houses and construct this art village full of early Republican-era aesthetics.

The whimsical finger-painting abstract artist infused his artistic vision into the classic pavilions and towers, complemented by the scenic beauty of the pond outside. It feels like stepping into a time tunnel, with scenery so beautiful it captivates all who visit.
