Plum blossoms bloom in Jiaobanshan, drawing crowds of visitors eager to admire the flowers

The plum garden at the Jiaobanshan Guesthouse in Fuxing District, Taoyuan City, covers an area of 2 hectares and is planted with over 200 plum trees, making it one of the largest plum gardens in northern Taiwan. It is currently in full bloom season, with snow-white blossoms adorning the branches, attracting photography enthusiasts. The Jiaobanshan Plum Blossom Festival is held in conjunction with the Luofu Hot Springs Food Carnival. Activities kicked off on the 13th, inviting the public to come up the mountain to enjoy the plum blossoms, have fun, and take in the winter scenery.

Ye Zongfu, Director of the Taoyuan City Scenic Area Administration, said that the secret map of plum blossom viewing spots includes the Jiaobanshan Guesthouse area, the SanGuangli Line 113 Plum Garden, the Shimen Reservoir Maple Forest Park, the Cihu Mausoleum, and the Houcihu. Among them, the plum varieties in Jiaobanshan include fruit plums and flower plums, with the peak blooming period around the 13th to the 21st. The Jiaobanshan Guesthouse has now connected all barrier-free trails, allowing visitors to easily tour the blooming plum blossoms as well as attractions such as Plum Blossom Lake and wartime tunnels.

This year’s Jiaobanshan Plum Blossom Festival features a variety of activities, including family-friendly lawn games with 10 retro games for parents and children to get active; and a plum blossom tea party held from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm on the 13th, offering on-site tastings of Sanmin Black Tea, Jiaobanshan Old Jiang Tea, and Lala Mountain Baozhong Tea, allowing visitors to enjoy the plum blossoms while sipping tea.

On the 14th, there will be a Plum Blossom Diary Picnic. Couples who take photos with the red lanterns in the park can receive a free diary book, limited to 200 copies.
