Catching the tail end of summer, The Regent Taipei invites the wildly popular ice dessert brand “Roadside Ice’s Monster” from Taichung to pop up at the hotel from August 22 to September 5. The pop-up will be held at the azie Restaurant on the first floor, the Upper Lounge on the second floor, and the Secret Garden on the lower basement level 2, featuring super-cute Snow Monster Ice desserts adorned with handcrafted monstrous icing big eyes. In addition to the widely loved Hokkaido Tokachi fresh milk, Uji matcha, and the Taichung store-exclusive Genmai roasted green tea flavors, two exclusive Regent editions have been newly created: the “Lychee Ruby,” made with imported French lychee puree and Taiwan’s organic Red Jade (Taiwan Tea No. 18), and the indulgent “Monster Sea Party,” combining five bold flavors—Hokkaido Tokachi fresh milk, Uji matcha, black sesame, French cocoa, and Miyako Island snow salt peanuts.

“Roadside Ice’s Monster” was founded in the spring of 2015. In Japanese, “路地 (roji)” refers to the small alleys off main streets, and the team hopes to bring delightful surprises to urban dwellers amid the hustle and bustle. Initially, the brand focused on soft serve ice cream made from Hokkaido’s fresh milk, incorporating a variety of authentic Japanese ingredients to create both surprising visuals and unforgettable flavors. Later, the brand introduced authentic Japanese-made machines to produce shaved ice, achieving an irresistibly smooth melt-in-your-mouth texture. Topped with handcrafted monstrous icing big eyes, these whimsical and healing shaved ice creations quickly gained massive popularity—not only among local customers but also becoming a must-try item on foreign tourists’ lists.
For this collaboration, “Roadside Ice’s Monster” has specially created two limited-time flavors for The Regent. In addition to the “Monster Sea Party” with its five flavors, another is the “Lychee Ruby,” made with imported French lychee puree and Red Jade oolong tea that carries a subtle hint of mint and natural cinnamon. Upon tasting, the rich layers of aroma unfold across the palate, while the stunning white-and-amber gradient colorway captivates the senses.
To welcome the arrival of the “Roadside Ice’s Monsters,” The Regent Taipei has also launched “Lucky Little Monster Cakes,” including: the Red Monster, featuring a white chocolate ganache covering strawberry jelly and vanilla wild berry cake with a sweet and tangy twist; the Blue Monster, blending sweet lychee ganache with grapefruit jelly for a delightful taste experience; the Black Monster, combining crispy sesame almond chocolate biscuit with a rich and creamy sesame ganache; the Green Monster, encasing a silky matcha tiramisu with red bean and colorful yam filling; and the Purple Monster, combining rich chocolate cake with salted caramel. Each is priced at NT$80 and will be sold daily in limited quantities at the Regent Gift Shop during the event period.
