Watch the outdoor broadcast of the Universiade opening ceremony together and cheer for Taiwan

To allow more people to participate in this rare international sporting event held in Taiwan, the Taipei City Government’s Department of Information and Tourism has specially planned an outdoor broadcast event for the Taipei Universiade opening ceremony, which will take place on August 19th at the Taipei City Hall Plaza. The event will be hosted by entertainers Wuzun, Huang Muyan (Piggy), and Yang Fada, who will lead the public in enjoying the exciting moments of the Universiade opening ceremony. Starting at 3 PM, members of the public can join large-scale interactive fun competitions at the venue to receive a limited-edition Bear Cheer Fan. With the fan, they can also exchange for a free “Chinese Team is Awesome” popsicle at the service desk. There will also be a Sports Sweetheart Cheer Squad and popular singers joining the public to cheer for the Universiade together.

The stage activities at 3:30 PM will kick off with performances by Sova Band, winners of the 2016 Taoyuan Iron Rose Music Awards Popular Vote. The cheer squad from Taipei Municipal University will also bring energetic performances to support the Universiade. This time, the organizers have formed a “Sports Sweetheart Cheer Squad” consisting of popular sports girls — Nini, Duanjin, Lingxiaolu, Xiaoyan, Ququ, and Yangyang — who have specially choreographed dances to cheer on the Universiade athletes, bringing a youthful and vibrant atmosphere of support for fans. In addition to meet-and-greet sessions, fans can also go on stage to interact closely with the usually distant Sports Sweetheart Cheer Squad and play games as a team. Aside from the afternoon sports fun, evening performances will feature idol singer Chen Yanyun, powerful vocalist Lin Xinyi, Ultimate Class leading lady Zeng Peici, and singing and acting star Li Qianna, who will join the public to watch the Universiade opening ceremony broadcast. The broadcast hosts will be Wuzun, who is also a former athlete, along with sports enthusiasts Huang Muyan and Yang Fada.。
