Typhoon No. 13 Hato (international name: Hato), a mild typhoon, has triggered maritime and land warnings. Due to the typhoon and its outer circulation, there is a high probability of localized heavy rain or downpours. There is also a significant chance of very heavy rain in the eastern half of the island.The area south of Chiayi and southeastern Taiwan will experience showers, while other regions, as well as Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu, will have brief showers or thunderstorms.

Starting from the morning of August 22, average wind speeds in the southern Taiwan Strait will strengthen to Force 9–10, with maximum gusts reaching Force 12. In the southeastern waters of Taiwan, average wind speeds will increase to Force 8–9, with maximum gusts up to Force 11. Boaters and those engaging in maritime activities should exercise extra caution.
