From check-in to room service, it's all handled by robots — Southeast Asia’s first robot-service hotel

Japan’s tourism industry has introduced robot check-ins, and now this trend has spread to Singapore, where robots assist with room service and cater to all needs of guests, including delivering meals and handling services like meal delivery — the helpers might no longer be waitstaff pushing carts.

Singapore’s M Social Hotel recently launched robotic room service. This hotel caters mainly to business travelers, combining a novel style and decor with robot-assisted services to deliver a unique travel experience. Named AURA, the robot provides towel and water delivery services, and it can even use elevators — a surprisingly impressive feat.

M Social Hotel is Southeast Asia’s first hotel to use robot services, with the goal of enhancing the quality of accommodation. Though AURA is a robot, it is sleek and stylish. It can independently take the elevator to reach assigned rooms and notify guests upon arrival.

Although robots have begun being used in the tourism industry, an M Social Hotel spokesperson stated that this does not mean robots will completely replace human staff. Robots are mainly used for room service, allowing human employees to work more efficiently and focus on other areas.
