The Central Weather Bureau has issued a disaster prevention forecast for a tropical depression. Typhoon Krosa (No. 17) is expected to form by the afternoon of the 5th and a marine warning may be issued, with southern regions and southeastern Taiwan being the first to be affected. According to path simulations from Europe and the U.S.,... The current distance of the typhoon from Taiwan is not far, and meteorological expert Wu Der-rong stated that if this tropical depression develops into a typhoon, a land warning cannot be ruled out. Weather changes in the coming days must be closely monitored.

This tropical depression, with a pressure of 1002 hPa, was located at 17.5°N, 124.8°E at 8:00 a.m. today, approximately 650 kilometers southeast of Eluanbi, moving northwest by west turning to northwest at a speed of 15 km/h, showing a trend of developing into a mild typhoon. From this afternoon to tomorrow, the sea areas off southeastern Taiwan, the Bashi Channel, and the southern Taiwan Strait will experience rough winds and waves. Ships navigating or operating in these areas should exercise extra caution. Strong gusts and the possibility of swells are expected along the coasts of northern Taiwan, eastern Taiwan (including Green Island and Orchid Island), southern Taiwan, and the Hengchun Peninsula.
