The Hong Kong Tourism Board’s second wave of promotions for the “Old Town Central” in-depth tour is here！In an innovative move, five celebrity Shiba Inus are leading the way, recommending their favorite spots to visitors. These five neighborhood Shiba Inus are nicknamed the “WE5” and are a five-dog family that has lived in the Central and Mid-Levels area for over seven years. They love patrolling the neighborhood with their owner and strolling around the area. They are not only local celebrities but also have over ten thousand “fans” on social media.

In addition to starring in the Hong Kong Tourism Board’s promotional videos, the five “canine stars” will also become photographers, showcasing another perspective of “Old Town Central.”

To capture the WE5’s genuine recommendations, the Hong Kong Tourism Board specially modified their photography gear. By utilizing the dogs’ natural tendency to wag their tails when happy, cameras on their bodies automatically sense the tail-wagging and take photos when they encounter places they like. Of course, all their photography outfits are custom-made to ensure they are comfortable while shooting.

The entire shooting process took two days, with the five celebrity Shiba Inus taking turns, and the team provided close care throughout. In addition to regularly offering them food and water, the team also helped cool them down and arranged for them to rest at nearby shops. The local shops and residents were happy to temporarily look after the “dog stars” on behalf of their owners, showing the community’s warmth.
