Typhoon Talim likely to issue sea warning this afternoon, another low pressure system may form into a typhoon

Another tropical depression also has a high likelihood of forming into Typhoon Doksuri (No. 19)This tropical depression, with a pressure of 1000 hPa, is located at 14.5°N, 122°E — in the waters east of the Philippines — and is moving westward at 20 km/h, showing a tendency to develop into a mild typhoon. Once formed, the typhoon is expected to head toward Hong Kong.


There may be mutual influence and compounding effects between Typhoon No. 19 and Typhoon Talim, which is worth noting. Due to the eastward retreat of the Pacific high-pressure system, Typhoon Talim’s path continues to shift northward and may not make landfall in Taiwan. However, its storm radius will still affect northern parts of Taiwan’s land area, so special typhoon preparedness measures are needed.
